Nirvana is a rock band from Aberdeen, Washington. They released their album Nevermind in 1991. That same year, they also released the song “Smells Like Teen Spirit", which became one of the most popular songs of all time. It remains one of the best selling albums ever made and it helped to bring grunge music to the mainstream public. Nirvana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2014, making them only second to The Beatles for most inductions into that institution. Nirvana was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1988 by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic. They released their album “Bleach" in 1989. The following year, they made the move from Seattle to Los Angeles where they recorded their second album, “Nevermind". In 1995, they released a compilation album called "Nirvana". In early 1991, Nirvana was nominated for a Grammy award in the category for Best New Artist.
